The Bible tells us of many different accounts regarding the life of the Pharisees. They are well known for their hypocrisy and their unloving and satanic spirit that works against heaven through their lies, falsehoods, accusations and self righteousness finger pointing at others, which the Bible has liken them as men full of dead man’s bones.
Matthew 23:27-38 - Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead [men's] bones, and of all uncleanness. Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity...your house is left unto you desolate.
We can see the clear work of Satan in the record book of Zechariah 3 who Satan pointed out the garments of Joshua.
Zechariah 3:1-4 - And he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him. And the LORD said unto Satan, The LORD rebuke thee, O Satan; even the LORD that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: [is] not this a brand plucked out of the fire? Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel. And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment.
We can see that Satan is always standing by with his accusations, ready to do his finger pointing, ready for his opportunity to engage in his office of backbiting against the servants of God. Those that do this work are his children. Truly, Satan is styled the "accuser of the brethren", as seeking to uphold his influence among men by bringing false charges against true Christians who are with faults and failures, but contend daily to do good, Satan is seen as the one who will do all he can in weakening the Christian's influence and injuring the cause with which they are identified.
Revelation 12:10 -...the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
Let us give a clear and specific example of the Pharisees evil deeds towards Jesus Christ and His followers and by doing so, we shall see how this spirit is alive and living today through Satan's instruments today.
Looking into the book of Luke we can see that at one time, Levi who followed Jesus Christ made a feast for Him and during that time there were publicans and others who also attended the feast.
Luke 5:29-30 - And Levi made him a great feast in his own house: and there was a great company of publicans and of others that sat down with them. But their scribes and Pharisees murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with publicans and sinners?
They questioned why Jesus ate and drank with publicans and sinners. But not only this, look how they accuse and magnified their stories. Reading further down, we can find…
Luke 7:34 - The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!
These Pharisees accused Jesus of being gluttonous and a winebibber. Why? Just because he sat down with the publicans and sinners who were eating and drinking didn’t mean he became gluttonous and a winebibber. He sat down with them so He can minister with them. As we know, Jesus did no sin and there was no guile found in His mouth. 1 Peter 1:22. How can he be a gluttonous just because he sat with publicans and sinners who were eating and drinking? How can He be a winebibber (habitual drinker of alcohol) when He condemns drunkenness?
Proverbs 23:21 - For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe [a man] with rags.
1 Corinthians 6:10 - Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
Jesus keeps the commandments of His Father and worked for those who needed a physician. John 15:10. He never transgressed any of the commandments. He never once was intoxicated with alcohol or committed whoredom because he was helping loving the sinful women; just because He was there with the publicans and sinners eating and drinking should not mean that He also one of them. But you can see how Pharisees love to magnify and accuse and add false coloring to something Jesus never did; same story with many of our lives. These accusers of the brethren around us love to exaggerate something and add false color on top of more false coloring for the sole purpose of injuring their cause in the work of the Lord. Why do people get like this? They are jealous of others and want to be above them.
If these modern day Pharisees and those that have the same spirit see you loving others as Christ did the lost, they will do all they can to destroy you and the work you are doing by adding accusations upon accusations. If they see you walk with someone who is known to be a drunkard they will likely accuse you of being a drunkard. They like to make up stories and magnify situations in order to convince those they want to deceive. By saying that Jesus is a glutton and winebibber is actually a form of lying. They wanted Jesus to appear as a sinner when actually they are the ones who are full of evilness inside their hearts and are the real sinners.
As we know, often when others accuse you and point fingers at you, they are trying to hide their own sins and cover up the real truth in which you are in Christ through their evil and sinful jealousy. What they accuse you of is what they are actually guilty of doing. Same work Satan did in heaven is his work in the earth today. When you see Christian's being slandered by others, having their garment published to the world, adding falsehoods upon falsehoods, you shall know them and their work to be that of the devil. They love pointing out the garments of others, but see not their own stains and evils upon themselves. They won't dare speak an evil word about self, but will talk evil of others to make themselves feel better about their own sinful ways. One day all their sins will be laid out into the open and they shall all be put to shame and we, the accused shall be vindicated.
Isaiah 51:7 - Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart [is] my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings.
Let us not be deceived by these kinds of people who are around us. People who love to profess they are Christians yet act and talk like the Pharisees of old, they are nothing more than lip service professed Christians whose work corresponds with Satan. The work they do in slandering others, the Word of God likens them as murderers, whose end will be according to their own works.

Proverbs 20:19 - He that goeth about [as] a talebearer revealeth secrets: therefore meddle not with him that flattereth with his lips.
