How can you be part of the 1st resurrection to receive immortal life?
What kind of person are we, mortal or immortal? Job 4:17.
Who is immortal? 1 Tim. 1:17.
Can we have immortal life? 2 Tim. 1:10 …through what? The Gospel of Jesus Christ!
How can we have eternal life through the gospel? John 3:16 …we need to believe.
Those who will not believe ….it said in John 3:16….you will perish.
Example of somebody who was saved by believing in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Luke 23:43
Why was he saved? Eph 2:8. He was saved by grace because he had faith in the Son of God.
But is it enough to believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ in order to have eternal life?
James 2:17-18 – faith without work is dead
Matthew 19:17 – keep the commandments, Revelation 1:3 – Blessed

When are we going to receive immortality? 1 Corinthians 15:52, 53
What will happen to those who received immortality?
1 Peter 5:4, - shall receive a crown that doesn’t fade
Revelation 22:4 – can see God
Revelation 21:4 – no more pain, no sorrow, nor crying
Revelation 20:6 – shall be priests with God and Christ and shall reign with Him a thousand years
Isaiah 65:21-25 – build homes in heaven
John 14:1-3 – can live in the mansions in heaven prepared by Jesus
1 Thessalonians 4:17 – to be with God forever
SUMMARY:
In order to obtain eternal life:
- Believe (faith) = saved by grace (Eph 2:8)
- Obey = Matthew 19:17, Rev 22:4
Jews (only obey) – very strict with the law
Christians (only believe) – stuck with saved by grace, no need to keep the law
Remnant (complete formula for eternal life = believe and obey) – Rev 14:12, James 1:22, Romans 2:13
You will be saved by grace only when you do not have the chance to obey because your life is about to end (death bed, thief on the cross) But if you have the chance to live, you have to go to the next step which is obedience to show that you have truly believe or that your faith in God is genuine. Mouth profession will not bring you to heaven.
